Create, Collect, Recycle, Recreate!

Crafts and tools for crafting creations from our collections

In November of this year, Fraser Hall Library invited students, staff and faculty to create their own zines, collages, erasure/blackout poetry – whatever! – from a variety of deselected or duplicate materials from the Library’s collections.    The creative work of dozens of people who participated in the weeklong event are now on exhibit on the lower level of Fraser Hall, near the entrance facing the Sturges Quad.

The event took place in Fraser’s 2 nd floor lobby area just before Thanksgiving break and was arranged by the Library’s Collection Management unit. Members of the Collection Management team collected discarded and surplus materials, some of which are scattered at the bottom of the exhibit case, and provided paper, scissors, glue, glitter, markers, and other supplies for re-creating these materials into imaginative works.   These works will be added to the College Archives, part of Fraser Hall Library’s Special Collections, to be preserved and enjoyed for years to come.
