Congratulations to Becky Leathersich, co-author of the APALA Rubric to Evaluate Asian American and Pacific Islander Youth Literature

Congratulations to Research Instruction librarian Becky Leathersich, co-author of the “APALA Rubric to Evaluate Asian American and Pacific Islander Youth Literature”! The APALA Rubric was recently made available online, and plans are in the works for submission to an open access repository. The rubric is a guide to help review and evaluate Asian American and Pacific Islander American (APIA) youth literature intended for readers 0-18 years old.

This rubric is being demonstrated and discussed in multiple presentations this year:

Students, faculty, and staff who would like to learn more about the APALA Rubric or would like to request instruction based on AAPI youth literature can contact Becky Leathersich, at bleathersich@geneseo.edu.
