Learn about Black History Month with a book from our Collection and explore our Black Life in America trial database!

The Library’s Black History Month Collection  is a selection of books celebrating the annual observance, focusing on the contributions, struggles, and excellence of African Americans.  The book collection can be accessed by selecting the “Cultural Collections” link under “Collections” on the Library Website, as well as in GLOCAT.

The Library is also running a trial of the Black Life in America database from Newsbank. The trial is active through February 28. This database contains experiences and impacts of African Americans during the late 20th and early 21st centuries, as recorded by the news media.   This database can also be accessed via the Black & Africana Studies Subject section of our Research Guides:  https://library.geneseo.edu/bas
