The theme of this year’s International Open Access Week is “Open for Whom? Equity in Open Knowledge.”
Open Access is a label given to material that is freely accessible to anyone with an internet connection. Milne Library is committed to promoting open access to material, which allows researchers to read, print, download, and distribute work. Benefits of OA publishing include increased exposure and citation rates, as well as immediate access to research.
To promote Open Access, Milne Library offers the following services:
- KnightScholar, a digital, Open repository for research from across the College
- OASIS, a search tool for finding Open resources
- Open Educational Resources, a piece of the larger Open community
