The library & its staff provide a high level of support for student research & learning. We look forward to working with you during your time at SUNY Geneseo!

What can you find at Milne Library?

• Help from expert librarians for your research needs. Nearly every major on campus has a librarian who is very familiar with the subject & resources for research. You can drop by the library 12–8 p.m. M–Th at the Research Help Desk, or you can make appointments with the Research Instruction librarians to meet one-on- one for an hour of assistance.

 

• Help from expert librarians in finding articles, books, & any other materials needed for research. If we don’t have it available in one of our over 500 databases or on our shelves, materials can be ordered from other libraries through our award-winning Information Delivery Systems (IDS) program. Generally electronic materials arrive in your e-mail within 24–48 hours; physical materials arrive at the library & can be picked up at the Service Desk with 3–7 business days.

 

• Help with computers. The campus’s CIT Help Desk is located on the main level of Milne &  is staffed with IT experts who figure out why your laptop isn’t printing, how to make a running head in Word, or show you how to download Office 365 (free!).

 

• Help with writing. The Writing Learning Center, located on the main floor of the library, is staffed with tutors who will work with you on your paper’s structure, thesis, etc. Additionally, Milne has course reserves, where you can check out textbooks rather than buy them; workshops on fake news & plagiarism; quiet & group-study spaces; and of course Books & Bytes, for the student food group necessities of carbohydrates & caffeine.
